Dysmenorrhea could be stopped by acupuncture
Dysmenorrhea pertains to cold pain in the lower abdomen that refers to the lumbosacral region prior to, during or after the menstruation period. It is commonly seen in young women.
Dysmenorrhea often relates to pathological changes of the genitalia, psychological and endocrine factors. Primary or functional dysmenorrhea refers to a condition without pathological changes of the genitalia, which often occurs in a nulliparous woman, and usually disappears after giving a birth to a baby. Secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by diseases such as endometriosis, acute or chronic pelvic inflammation, tumors, blockage or cervical stenostomia.

Deficient patterns are mainly due to the deficiency in the spleen andstomach, or insufficiency of the qi and blood caused by serious and prolonged diseases; or the constitutional weakness, insufficiency of the essence and blood of the liver and kidney. Any of the above factors my cause a retention of cold or dampness in the uterus, insufficiency of blood in the Penetrating and Conception Vessels, and the uterine failure for nourishment, resulting in dysmenorrhea.
